Student Materials Deployment

Greetings Gibson Families,


Next week, CCSD officially enters Phase 2 of the Nevada Reopening Plan. Our office phones will be open to assist you with registration or other school related issues, however, all buildings will remain closed to the public during Phase 2. Please call the school at 702-799-8730 between the hours of 8:00 am - 12:00 pm so that we can assist you.


Many of you have asked about providing registration paperwork for the upcoming year (birth certificates, shot records, lease agreements, utility bills, etc.). At this time, we ask that you either email the paperwork to Dolores Del Rio at delrid@nv.ccsd.net or mail them to our school via US Mail. We will schedule a collection day for paperwork in August, but due to social distancing guidelines we kindly request the email or mail turn in of paperwork whenever possible. There are many free apps available that allow you to take pictures of the documents and the app converts to a PDF that can be emailed directly from your phone.


We are also happy to announce our Student Materials Deployment dates. Primary grades are scheduled for Tuesday, June 9th and Intermediate grades will be deployed on Wednesday, June 10th. If you have multiple children, it is requested that you pick up at the assigned time of your eldest child. On these dates, we will set up a Drive Through Deployment system. We ask that you bring back any Library Books, World Series Books, and Chromebooks/chargers* (only if moving out of Gibson Zone). Gibson students will bring the devices back to school in the Fall, and fifth grade students will turn in Chromebooks/chargers at the middle schools when school resumes for the 2020-21 academic year.


We have bags for each student that contain World Series/AR Ducks, materials from their desks and Spring pictures if they were ordered. We will provide these bags to you during our Drive Through Deployment.


On our Deployment Days, we request that you come at the assigned times for your grade level, wear PPE (masks and gloves) and have a sign in your windshield for each student you have at Gibson. The signs should be easily readable from a distance (use marker please) and state the teacher name, and student first and last name. Please make one sign for each child so we can have our “runners” retrieve materials for the younger children.

7:30 am - Grade K 7:30 am - Grade 3

8:00 am - Grade 1 8:00 am - Grade 4

8:30 am - Grade 2 8:30 am - Grade 5


Unfortunately, due to Covid Closures, our Gibson Yearbook is not ready at this time. The Gibson PTO will be distributing yearbooks and Amazing Raise prizes at the beginning of the 2020-21 school year. Arrangements will be made to deliver the yearbooks to our neighboring middle schools for our promoted fifth graders. If you have moved out of zone, please email the Gibson PTO at gibsonpto@gmail.com to make arrangements for pick up.
